Planning and layout

• MUTCD- and state-spec–compliant designs for lane use, tapers, merges, and transitions.

• Field verification of widths, offsets, and sight distance; stake‑out and premarking.

• Phasing plans for active roadways to maintain traffic while work occurs.

Longitudinal markings

• Yellow centerlines: single, double, solid/broken combinations to control passing.

• White lane lines: broken, solid, double-solid, and wide lines for express lanes, tunnels, and ramps.

• Edge lines and shoulder delineation to improve night and wet-weather guidance.

• Channelizing lines and buffer hatch areas for gore zones and bike/transit buffers.

Transverse and intersection markings

• Stop bars, yield lines (shark’s teeth), crosswalks (standard and high-visibility “ladder”).

• Turn arrows, ONLY legends, lane-use control symbols, route shields.

• Roundabout entries, truck aprons, and splitter island markings.

Specialty lanes and colors

• Bike lanes and conflict‑zone green, turn boxes, and shared-lane markings (sharrows).

• Transit/HOV lanes (red where permitted), toll/managed lane legends, and ramp meters.

• School zones, railroad approaches, and traffic‑calming markings.

Raised pavement markers and delineation

• Installation of RPMs (white, yellow, blue, red as applicable) for nighttime and wet‑night visibility.

• Object markers, flexible delineators, and chevrons on curves and gore areas.

Work‑zone and temporary traffic control markings

• Removable tapes and paints for staging.

• Night work with light plants and traffic control devices to minimize disruptions.

Off‑street integration (when projects tie into access points)

• ADA‑compliant accessible routes from roadway to site entrances.

• Driveway throat markings, stop bars, and crosswalk tie‑ins.
